This request is from:
Clay Loveless, <clay@crawlspace.com>
I'm a webmaster for 3 popular comic book fan sites, and have more in the works ... my monthly banner impressions average close to 300,000. I'm shopping around for a quality ad banner program that:
A) supports & encourages Mac-focused products and B) pays website publishers a decent CPM rate after they extract their commission.
I've been looking at FlyCast's program (www.flycast.com), which looks good -- but I haven't seen a bunch of Mac banners served up through it.
Since my audience consists primarily of teenage boys, I figure they're ripe for Mac conversion!

In my web wanderings, I came across a really neat electronic schematic entry package for Linux. The author wants to cross compile it to the Mac, but does not have the resources. Is there anyone out there in Mac land that can help. I'm only a humble electronics eng. but I'd be willing to Beta test any offerings.

I need some help. My name is Harry and I am a QA engineer at Alexa Internet (www.alexa.com). I am working on the Macintosh version of the Alexa software. Our service helps individuals surf the internet more efficiently. We supply detailed site information and suggested links in an easy to use toolbar interface. Please check out our web site for more information.
Here is the problem. Our project is behind schedule due to several reasons which I will not detail. Unfortunately this is begining to erode the support among the upper management for the Mac platform. The powers that be are not convinced the Mac online community is large enough to buoy the mounting expense of keeping this project going...and going...and going.
WE are only a week away from a very stable public alpha release (beta at most companies) and a month or so from a full featured beta.
How can you help? Pick up that mighty pen and email us. If we were to get a few thousand emails it would make the Mac software a slam dunk! This is the Mac communities chance to put their money where their email is. Write us and tell us.....

This follow-up message is from:
J.J. Davies, <aain@visi.net>
Thank you to all who took the time to complete our online survey relating to Macintosh training. The results showing which programs Macintosh users prefer and which applications Macintosh users desire more training on are posted at, <http://www.cyphernet.com/amt/stats/>. One interesting statistic that stood out was that Macintosh users in our sampling overwhelmingly preferred Netscape Navigator (88.9%) as their web browser over MS Explorer (3.7%). Do the results indicate that Macintosh users have an real preference to use Netscape Navigator or does it reflect their true feelings about Microsoft?
The Association of Macintosh Trainers (AMT) is continuing to compile statistical data relating to the Macintosh training industry. Our newest survey should give us feedback about the quality of Macintosh training people are receiving. Please visit our site and complete our online survey to become a part of this survey and future studies.
AMT <http://www.cyphernet.com/amt> is an international network of Apple Macintosh computer trainers, instructors and educators, representing 24 nations. The purpose of the organization is to make Macintosh computer support easily accessible to end users worldwide, while working to improve upon the quality of Macintosh training. The AMT membership is easily accessible to computer users at, <http://www.cyphernet.com/amt/members/members.html>. Please contact Jimmy J. Davies, President, for additional information.

This follow-up message is from:
Maria Langer, <maria@gilesrd.com>
About a month ago, I asked EvangeList readers for their votes for the Top 10 Mac Software programs for an article I'm writing for Computer User. In going through the 600+ votes I received, I quickly realized that an EvangeList reader had decided to use my survey to promote his product. He obviously asked his product's users to e-mail me with votes for the product.
I realized that something was wrong because so many people had written very lengthy messages to praise just this one software product. (Most other folks merely listed their top 1-5 programs in a brief message.) It got more votes than most other products combined. I won't mention the product here (or probably in my article) because of this scheme.
I'm disappointed that someone would stoop to this level and doubt the validity of the rest of my survey. Perhaps other individuals have done the same thing. I was hoping to share the information I gathered with all of you, but since the information is slanted, it's misleading and inappropriate. I certainly wouldn't want to mislead you or any of my other readers.
However, I would like to thank the people who shared their honest opinions about their favorite programs -- without being led by someone else. Many of you reminded me of the fine products out there, including many shareware products that are often overlooked.

In continued show of appreciation to its most passionate supporters, Apple Computer, Inc. has chosen the Sacramento and Los Angeles Macintosh user groups as the latest venues to showcase the revolutionary iMac computer on the road to Macworld Expo New York happening July 8-10, 1998. The iMac has already caused great excitement among computer enthusiasts worldwide because of its innovative design, powerful features and low price.
