Subject: ?? - Equipment Loan Tracking Software

This request is from:

<mailto: "A. Lee Bennett Jr." bennett@ao.net>

I am responsible for checking in and out audio/visual equipment at my
office. I've tried various methods of keeping track of where stuff is,
when it is supposed to be back, and when it's been reserved. Everything
I've tried just seems clunky and inefficient.

I'd like some ideas for shareware/freeware for tracking said equipment.
I'm not overly concerned with features related to billing and rental fees
because we only loan the equipment to people associated with our office
and do not charge them for the use.

updates for the complete WS4D Product Family for MacOS and Windows NT.

All Database published by WS4D are Sherlock accessible. This includes
Site-Search, Email-Search and all custom databases.

WS4D 2.0.2 has some specific Sherlock tracking features. The recent users
window will indicate if a database search is normal or Sherlock. All
Sherlock requests are logged into a text file. The WS4D Statistics
Windows will count the number of Sherlock requests handled.

Also, for those interested, MDG is hosting a popular Mailing List that
discusses the writing of Sherlock Plug-ins, <http://sherlock.mdg.com>.
Also, MDG also has released Sherlock Plug-ins to access the Web Server 4D
Mailing Lists and MDG's Site-Search. These plug-ins can easily be
modified to work at any WS4D site.

Starting with Web Server 4D 2.0.2, we directly support NetTools by Core
Technologies (http://www.coretechnologies.net). Using this product, WS4D
is able to become complete Open Transport native. If your server is
running MacOS 8.1 or MacOS 8.5, your virtual domains can be mapped to
different IP Address. WS4D will also update the Secondary IP Address file
for you automatically!

The built-in database publishing features of Web Server 4D have been
expanded. WS4D Databases now support field verification (enter field
twice to confirm entry). WS4D Databases now support field length
verification. WS4D Databases can now add a single record over multiple
pages.

WS4D has always provided database tracking of all your visitors and now
provides even more tracking. WS4D can tell you how many of your files are
served from Disk, WS4D Cache or Cached at the Browser. WS4D can also tell
you how many databases searches have been performed and even how many
were performed by Sherlock. WS4D will count the number of bad URLS, to
inform you when you may have an error in your HTML, pointing to a URL
that doesn't exist.

For anyone running Web Server 4D 1.7.4 - 2.0.1, WS4D 2.0.2 is a free

Subject: PR - MultiTimer Pro 3.1

This announcement is from:

<mailto: KarlBunker@aol.com>

Macintosh software developer Karl Bunker announces the release of
MultiTimer Pro 3.1. MultiTimer Pro is a utility for tracking the time
spent on projects and jobs performed on a Mac. MultiTimer Pro is an
invaluable asset to graphic designers, Web designers, content creators of
all types, consultants, lawyers, accountants, and anyone who uses a Mac
and either bills for their time or needs to keep track of time for any
other purpose.

The full power of MultiTimer Pro can only be hinted at here, but the
simplicity of the program is easier to describe: To start tracking time
on a new project you make a single menu selection and type in a name for
the project. Tracking the accumulated time spent on a project is
accomplished by clicking a start/stop timer button. Switch between
projects with a popup menu. View the log of a project by clicking a
button. And so on; all functions, from the simplest to the most
sophisticated, are designed to be intuitive and easy.

MultiTimer Pro costs only $35.00. A demo version is available immediately
for free downloading. This version is complete and not disabled in any
way; registered customers receive a code to turn off "please register"
reminders. MultiTimer Pro is available from the Web site at the URL given
below. It will be appearing in major Macintosh download sources and ftp
sites shortly.

This update to MultiTimer Pro introduces Navigation Services support,
user- configured color options, new "Export File" options for viewing
MultiTimer Pro data in other applications, improved printing
capabilities, and many other enhancements.

Requires: A Macintosh running System 7.1 or later, a monitor displaying
16 grays or better.

DIGITAL CACTUS TEAMS UP WITH TWIN MEDIA GROUP TO LAUNCH IDISC CD-ROM
MAGAZINE

Fallbrook, Calif. ć For the hundreds of thousands of new iMac users and
tens of millions of other Mac users who are looking for good "stuff" to
feed their Macs, a digital media studio and new media publisher are
launching a monthly Mac CD-ROM magazine to satisfy their appetites.

TwIN Media Group, LLC and Digital Cactus are proud to announce their
latest joint project, iDisc. The companies will be giving away 10,000
copies of the inaugural CD-ROM during Macworld Expo 1999 in San Francisco
from the Digital Cactus booth.

"Just think of the coolest 650 megabytes of software you can stuff on a
CD-ROM," said Rob Bethke, entertainment producer for iDisc. "That¼s what
iDisc is. Once you see a copy of this baby, you going to want to feed
your Mac with it. iDisc is more than a mega-shareware CD. It is an
interactive experience."

The CD-ROM will feature seven sections of content that will have broad
appeal to all Mac users.

1. iThink: The iThink section will feature The Mac Report CD Edition,
The Learning Center and The Book Nook. The Mac Report CD Edition is the
special monthly compilation of the premiere electronic magazine for Mac
users.

"We are very excited about providing the best news, reviews, features and
opinions for iDisc," said Spencer Lewis, associate editor of news for The
Mac Report. "But I am even more excited about the rest of the compelling
original content on the iDisc."

The Learning Center features hands on interactive tutorials, and the Book
Nook lets you read manuscripts and other excerpts from Mac-related books.

2. iPlay: After a hard day of work, iDisc users can enjoy the iPlay
section, featuring an original serial interactive adventure, iMan; the
hilarious EDtelligence quiz show; Level Heaven, with levels for games
like Myth, Marathon and WarCraft II; The Penny Arcade (only the best Mac
game shareware), The Demonstration Station (game demos); and the
brain-twisting Cerebral Overload.

"We are going to give you dozens of new reasons to pull the games you
finished a dozen times off the shelf with our Level Heaven," Bethke said.

3. iDo: A Mac isn¼t just a toy, so iDisc has the iDo section. iDo
features the Mac Mechanic (it¼ll make your Mac purr), Clips, Stocks and
Bites (stock art, sounds, models and more), The Plug-in Outlet, and the
Office Center (hints and templates for the office).

4. iSee: This is what QuickTime was invented for! iDisc comes with reels
of cool stuff to watch. iDisc users can grab the popcorn and enjoy this
show of great short films, music videos, epic commercials, animations and
more.

5. iWant: Destined to be the virtual Mac outlet mall, iWant is a section
filled with electronic booths from Mac vendors who have great deals for
iDisc readers.

6. iSurf: iSurf is a browser emporium, with the latest browser updates
and plug-ins as well the top Web sites reviewed.

7. iGo: iDisc users will become virtual travelers with these spectacular
QuickTime VR shots from around the world.

iDisc will start shipping in January 1999. A one-year subscription (12
issues) will cost $49.95, but those who subscribe before January 31, 1998
will pay only $29.95 as a special introductory offer. iDisc can be
ordered at Macworld Expo, from the iDisc Website <www.idisc.com> or by
