This announcement is from:

MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled ADDITION & SUBTRACTION for Special Learners is a unique tool for teaching addition & subtraction. It is a sequential, ground up, approach to addition & subtraction computation with fact support, much like a controlled vocabulary in reading. Each page includes fact clusters which present only the facts to be used on the page. Both special learners and regular education students benefit from its thorough and systematic approach. Unlike other workbooks, it is published as a computer document.
Fifty-two blackline masters comprise the basic package. Each page contains fact clusters presenting and previewing the facts to be used on the page. Worksheets follow a logical and thorough progression through the operations of addition & subtraction. A similar number of complete answer sheets is included.
New in Version 2.7PDF
Color Masters--with content identical to the blacklines Small Flashcard Masters--2"x3" cards keyed to the cluster approach No Fact Pages--pages that follow the cluster fact presentation, but omit the clusters.
MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled ADDITION & SUBTRACTION for Special Learners, version 2.7, is shareware. You may download the Adobe Acrobat than the free Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0. Registration of the PDF version for Macintosh or Windows is just $10.
The basic download archive includes the complete registered version of MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled ADDITION & SUBTRACTION for Special Learners. Blackline master and answer key pages 1-26 are available for preview. The remaining blacklines and answer keys, along with the color masters, small flashcard masters, and "No Fact" pages are password protected. Passwords are provided upon registration.
MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled ADDITION & SUBTRACTION for Special Learners, v. 2.7, is available for download from info-mac at:
The MATH DITTOS 2 series now includes three fact controlled books published only as computer documents. MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled MULTIPLICATION for Special Learners and MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled SUBTRACTION for Special Learners are also available.

The new "RUSH: Different Stages - Live" Tri-CD set released Tuesday features an enhanced CD (on disk 1) that contains a very cool interactive art/screensaver application by Hisashi Hoda (too hard to describe - you have to see it). Not only was I happy to see that the program is both Windows and Mac compatible, but it is built upon Quicktime 3 and has a Mac-ONLY feature that allows the program to "react" to the music of any audio CD playing in the drive! Hopefully you will purchase it for the music and enjoy the art as a bonus. The documentation lists a website for more info on the software at <http://www.wonderlab.com,> but I found it to be "Under Construction."

Excerpted from the July/August 1998 issue of the Ontario Lawyers Gazette...
TECHNOLOGY Macintosh hanging on in legal world
In a world dominated by DOS-based computers, where the introduction of the latest Windows operating system is considered by many to be a business and cultural event, there is a small cadre of resistance. These rebels have put their faith and investment in Apple Computer Inc.
In Ontario, an estimated six to seven per cent of the legal community uses Apple's Macintosh computers.
"As Apple says, it's straight out of the box," says Howard Greenberg, a partner at Greenberg Turner, an immigration, employment and labour firm in Toronto. "The day-to-day management of the operating system is next to nothing. At my old firm, there was a full-time consultant to watch the [PC] system."
However, the ease of use is a secondary benefit, he says. "The productivity is even more important. I'm using equipment I purchased in 1995 just as efficiently as when I bought it. I can put in a new chip at an insignificant cost. It's not like having a 386 or 486 going stale."
"We wouldn't think of going to Windows," he says.
There's another advantage for firms using Macs: They have not had to spend a dime getting ready for the Year 2000 computer bug because Macs have all been compliant since 1984. For a firm the size of Lang Michener that is a significant saving. _________________________________

I just wanted to let my fellow Evangelistas know that TBWA Chiat/Day is keeping an eye on this list, especially me. I just started as the Product Specialist for the Apple Account Team, and one of my primary duties is keeping my finger on the pulse of the Macintosh Community. This list is a daily read for me, and if anyone would like to contact me directly, please do.
Lots of good stuff is brewing at Apple! <wink, wink>
