Intro

Rules for Revolutionaries is getting to bookstores, so I'd like to tell
you about it. I wrote the book in order to pass along what I've learned
about creating revolutions at Apple and beyond--a lot the hard way!

The book provides the "hows" of revolutions backed up by extensive
real-world examples. The target markets are entrepreneurs, product
managers, engineers, marketers, inventors, scientists, and dreamers.

Or better yet, anyone with $25. :-)

_____

The Key Principles

These are the ten key principles of the book:

1. Cogita differenter. (Think different)
2. Don't worry, be crappy.
3. Churn, baby, churn.
4. Break down the barriers.
5. Make evangelists, not sales.
6. Avoid death magnets.
7. Eat like a bird, poop like a elephant.
8. Think digital, act analog.
9. Don't ask people to do what you wouldn't.
10. Don't let bozosity grind you down!

In about a week, more information about the book will be available at the
Rules for Revolutionaries Web site at <http://www.kickbutt.com>. The
Kepler's site (see below) already has all of chapter 1 posted.

_____

How to Buy

You can buy Rules for Revolutionaries online at:

<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0887309968/garagecom>
9968>
<http://www.devdepot.com/SBDisplayItem.qry?ItemCode=BRULES>

Also, having seen the movie "You've Got Mail!," I want to support my
local bookstore, and I figured out a way to do this: You can order
autographed, personalized copies at:

<http://www.keplers.com/kawasaki.htm>

In the comments field of the order form, please denote how you want me to
sign the book. Kepler's will let me know when your order comes in, and
I'll go over and personalize your copy.

______

Groveling

Finally, I grovel. The book business is weird: If a book gets off to a
fast start, the publisher pours more marketing and promotional dollars
into it. If it doesn't take off, the publisher usually gives up and
figures "it wasn't meant to be."

Therefore, I need the book to get off to a fast start. If you have a
need, or know anyone with a need, to create and market revolutionary
products or services, please buy a copy NOW. If this book doesn't help
you change the world, I'll switch operating systems! :-)

If all 44,000 EvangeListas bought just one copy, the book will be a
bestseller!

Thanks!

Guy

PS: Please forward this message to everyone you can! Arigato!

SYSTEM BAR - ESSENTIAL TIME-SAVING TOOLS TO SIMPLIFY EVERYDAY TASKS

SAN DIEGO, Calif., January 14, 1999 -- WestCode Software, Inc. today
announced the release of System Bar, a system enhancement utility for
Macintosh, which offers several easy-to-use tools for efficiently
handling common and tedious tasks.

Included are 11 tools, all accessible through a floating toolbar while in
any application - URL Launcher, Folder Boomerang, Auto Save, Insert Text,
Popup Character, Monitor Color Depth, Sound Level, Control Panels Popup,
System Folders Popup, Windows List, and HD Popup List.

These tools let you easily navigate open/save dialog boxes, auto save
documents in any application, store your favorite URLs, instantly paste
frequently used text clippings from a user-definable glossary, manage
open windows, display and insert special characters from fonts, and more.

No matter what application you're using, System Bar is always ready to
help out. When you're not using the System Bar it conveniently hides the
floating toolbar; to make it appear, simply move your cursor to the
bottom edge of the screen. Or, you can configure it to "iconfiy",
reducing it to a small floating icon when not in use.

"System Bar contains some of the core additions usually included as a
part of OneClick, our popular Macintosh enhancement product. The System
Bar has been spun off as a separate product for users that don't need all
of OneClick's other enhancements and macro capabilities," said Mark
Brooks, one of the developers of the System Bar.

The System Bar is integrated into the Mac OS through a control panel and
can be accessed whenever needed without having to switch to another
program. While some of its simpler functions can be found in shareware
control strip modules, you cannot find this expansive of a set of system
enhancements in any other package near this price range.

Some of the tools found in the System Bar are:

URL Launcher - a mini-bookmark and e-mail address book utility that opens
web or ftp sites, and creates and addresses new e-mail messages. It will
automatically open your web browser or email client if not already open.

Folder Boomerang - navigates folders easily in Open/Save file dialogs.
Keep separate sets of favorite folders for use in each application, and a
universal set for all applications.

Auto Save - saves your work in the current application on a set schedule.
Never lose work again because you forgot to save before a system crash.

Insert Text - maintains a glossary of commonly used text clips to be
inserted into documents, messages, or anywhere you can type text, in any
application.

Popup Characters - displays all of the available characters in a given
font. Selecting a character will place it in your current document, at
the text insertion point.

Open Windows List - manages windows in almost any application. Windows
can be tiled, closed, cycled through, or merely brought to the front.

HD Popup - lets you navigate and open drives, folders or files via a
hierarchical menu. Also shows available space on all mounted drives,
including removable media, such as Zip and Jaz.

Several other tools are included.

System Requirements ------------------- System Bar works on any Macintosh
running System 7.1 or greater, including Mac OS 8.5 and 8.5.1. Once
installed, the product uses less than 500K of hard drive space and when
running uses less than 300K of RAM.

Availability ------------ System Bar is available for purchase and
immediate download from the WestCode Software web site.

Price: $19.98 (USD)

All WestCode products include a 60 day money-back satisfaction guarantee,
and free technical support.
