This request is from:
Steve <mailto:sgilkeso@sirinet.net>
A friend of mine is leaving a work related trip to Israel in about a week and plans to take her Powerbook 3400/200 and QuickTake 200 camera. The problem is, both of us have no experience in what power conversion equipment is needed or recommended so she can use her Mac.
If any MacEvangelist has personal experience with using a Powerbook in Israel, and what type of plug converter she may need to purchase, could you please respond to her at <mailto:djones@graphicsii.com>djones@graphicsii.com. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated, and we will submit a follow-up post of these results.

This tidbit is from:
David Crump <mailto:drc503@mail.usask.ca>
I was watching CTV News-1 (Canadian TV) a while ago during the superbowl and they were discussing how the superbowl is so important to large companies for advertising. They then proceeded to show a few examples of the ads, starting with....you guessed it--the ad from Apple Computer(the Hal 2000 one). They played the whole commercial, then a mastercard and a budweiser ad. The president of Optimedia Canada was asked how this all got started. She responded: “We have to give credit for that to Apple Computer. They innovated this back in 1984, and since then it has just been other companies trying to do it better.” She then mentioned how they are back again with an amazing piece of work.

This tidbit is from:

Greetings to all Mac lovers in all flavours,
Not so long ago I posted an announcement that there was a new German-language Website about LinuxPPC and MkLinux. To my surprise, the site began getting hits out of plenty of countries where German is not exactly the mother tongue (Brazil? Canada? New Zealand?), and in surprising numbers, too.
So with that in mind, I've created an English-language section on that site, English being a wee bit wider spoken than German. (Sanskrit speakers need not bother visiting.) There you'll find news and information about Linux on the Macintosh; later, I hope to continue expanding the English section until it reaches an equal footing with the German one.
So I'm pleased to announce the partial rebirth of the "Linux am Mac FAQ"! The address is:
<http://linux.macnews.de/>
Have fun, and happy hacking! :-)
