Those of you who use GNU tools under MPW or ToolServer may want to get a copy of the latest version of Flex.
The GNU Bison parser generator version 1.26a was released recently
Following the release of GNU Bison 1.26a, this is the second release of Flex for MPW rebuilt with the latest version of Bison. The package contains the source, and a prebuilt tool for MPW. The texinfo documentation converted to html using texi2html is available as an extra download.

The LinkedResources Javascript Factory has posted FormMemory as a freeware AppleScript application. Currently at version 0.04, it leverages mature code which is entering its third year.
FormMemory is AutoFill* on steroids and FormSaver* for the masses. It is intended for Websurfers and Webmasters alike. The AppleScript is strictly for Websurfers.
The AppleScript application requires both Navigator and Explorer to function, but this is because of differing AppleScriptability in each browser; it does not use Explorer's AutoFill code in any way. Mozilla programmers, are you listening?

I was watching the Duralube/Big K-Mart 400 NASCAR race from Rockingham, North Carolina on TV Sunday. The race was great, but what really caught my eye was a shot of Bobby LaBonte's Joe Gibbs Racing pit crew. Crew chief Jimmy Makar was sitting in the spotter position on top of the crew truck and right in front of him, on a special mount, was a gorgeous translucent Apple flat-panel display. While Bobby didn't win the race, he finished in the top five and I'm sure Macs were instrumental in that performance.
I guess when you need a flat-panel display that can stand up to the extremes of weather and abuse inherent at a race track, plus can be legible in direct sunlight, you have to buy one with an Apple logo on it. Good going Apple.

The SW-ROUTERS-LIST has been set up to facilitate discussion, problem- solving, comparison of products and other purposes which fall under the general heading of software Internet routing. The list is meant to be primarily for Macintosh products, but discussions of other products which are to be used in a primarily-Mac environment are encouraged.

St. Clair Software has released version 3.0 of Default Folder, its control panel for enhancing Open and Save dialogs. This major upgrade provides full support for Apple's new Navigation Services Open and Save dialogs, as well as continuing improvements for "classic" Open and Save dialogs.
Application developers have been quickly adopting the new, improved "Navigation Services" Open and Save dialogs which Apple introduced in Mac OS 8.5. However, because some applications support Navigation Services and some don't, the disparity in features can cause confusion and frustration for users. In addition, Navigation Services still doesn't go far enough in helping users navigate among the many folders on their hard disks.
Default Folder 3.0 provides quick and easy access to users' favorite and recently used folders in all Open and Save dialogs, including Navigation Services dialogs. It also provides a host of other convenient file and folder management features, including the ability to click on Finder windows to display the contents of folders, and the capability of setting a default folder for any or all applications.

Default Folder 3.0 is a free upgrade for users who registered a previous version after January 31, 1998. There is a $15 upgrade fee for users who purchased Default Folder on or before that date.
