I've try it before, and I found it cannot work. You need some software to make Windows work with Appletalk networking. The one I'm using is PC Maclan 7.0 from Miramar System. It make Windows work with Mac for file sharing and printer sharing. And then, the corssover cable will not work, since it cannot have link of the computer and the network (unless you turn both computer on!) So I suggest you get a Hub. Once you use these things, you can see the Mac on the Networking Neighbood and you can share the files on PC via Apple Share. There is a demo at the Miramar web site, you can try before you get it!
