I downloaded and prepped OS 8.5.1 Update and placed it in the Apple folder in the Mac UD area. You can download it off of the web but the file is .smi and is substantially larger than it needs to be.
I have installed it on two machines with no difficulties. I always of course run repair before installing anything and suggest you do the same. The things this 8.5.1 fixes are important and I recommend anyone with 8.5 installed use this.
