At the Macworld Expo and NAMM 99 (the annual trade show for the International Music Products Association), developers of MIDI devices announced an exciting series of USB interfaces for both iMac and our new Power Macintosh G3 computers.
The new devices come from companies well known to Macintosh musicians, including Emagic, Midiman, Roland, Opcode, and Mark of the Unicorn. It's great news, and we'd like to tell you more: http://www.apple.com/publishing/music/midi/
------------------------------------------------------ In the good old days, music maker's choices were limited to the drum with the bearskin or the bark flute. Well, music's come a long way and every musician today has to be a top-flight technician in addition to actually playing an instrument. Forthwith is the D&P run down of stuff that might make your music worth hearing.
Emagic announces the AMT8, an active 8x8 MIDI-Interface for USB-equipped Macintosh computers. Used as a stand-alone interface or as a cost effective add-on to Emagic's Unitor8, the AMT8 offers AMT (Active MIDI Transmission) technology.
The AMT8 is the first interface from Emagic to provide a USB port in addition to the RS-232 and RS-422 ports. Existing Unitor8 installations can be used with new computers simply by connecting an AMT8.
The AMT8 interface will be available in April 1999. www.Emagic.de
