Anyone out there gotten into Escape Velocity yet? It's the new one by Ambrosia. This is ONE COOL GAME! This is by far the best shareware game I've ever played, on any platform. It's like a cross between TradeWars 2002, SpaceWard Ho!, Maelstrom, and a few others. You can add new elements through plug-ins (several are already available...check out <http://www.sasknet.com/~jayt/ev/>), etc. etc. etc. It's a HUGE download, though. I need to upload it here, but it's about 5 megs compressed (requires about 8Megs free RAM to run on a PPC machine w/o VM, more depending on your monitor's size. I'm running at 1024x768 and it wants about 9Megs or more to run).
I've heard reports of crashing, etc. I haven't had it crash on me yet, but then again, I'm not using VM. This game needs RAM (get it now while you can get 16M for <$160 ).
