It should slightly speed up things for modem users. The reason I say that is that anytime the system was providing net information it took a bit to process and send. The faster net access allow things to be served very quickly. Newsgroups for example would take 15 minutes or so to run. While they were processing the system slows down some. They take about 3 minutes to run now.
I just transfered a 14 meg sea file at 6,853 cps.
