Sunday afternoon I updated the Ram to 72 megabytes. I replace a lot of mixed capacity SIMMs that I had collected over a period of time in hopes that it stabilizes the system a bit more. I am running 4 matched 16 Meg SIMMs and with the built in 8 that raised the system capacity to 72 meg.
I also reworked the drive configuration. I had 3 drives on the internal bus: a Barracuda 2 Gig, a Fireball 8.4 Main File Drive, and a Fireball 6.4 File and Backup Drive. I removed the 6.4 from the internal bus and terminated the 8.4. The 6.4 is now power terminated on the external bus.
I am hoping that the combination of the two things will kill my hardware bugs once and for all. While my Powerkey Pro keeps the system online if it crashes it was crashing far too often. I have my fingers crossed that this solved the problem.
