Guys,
What do you all think about the stuff that's been going on at the WorldWide Developer's Conference? Seems like Gil Amelio has hit the nail on the head regarding what Apple needs to do. This is the most optimistic I've been about the platform since Spindler became CEO. Gil Amelio is FINALLY a CEO who LISTENS TO DEVELOPERS and the user community at large! Wow, what a concept. He BELIEVES in ADVERTISING (I hope they start some major campaigns soon!). He seems to be more interested in keeping the Mac platform viable than just in creating cool new stuff (that nobody uses and then they stop supporting a few months later). Hee seems to realize that the enemy is NOT Big Blue (IBM), but big brother (MicroSoft). Teaming up with NetScape to push OpenDoc (WOW!).
Releasing a new interrim software update near the end of the year... bringing some of the nice features of System 8 to Mac and PowerMac Desktops BEFORE THE YEAR 2000.

Some great stuff is going on....we need to catch the momentum and keep it going!

Later,
Wintermute
