I agree completely. I just wonder how on earth Apple is going to get the press off their back. I'm so sick and tired of hearing the laypress and non-mac (and half the time pro-mac) magazines slamming Apple with every move they make. It's a wonder that they're selling ANY machines to consumers with all this negative press and Apple doomsaying. People just don't like to buy "proprietary" machines from a company that "appears" to be going belly up. In the past, even when Apple has taken solid steps towards correcting the problems mentioned in the press, the press has discounted their efforts, completely ignored any positive stuff going on at Apple, and searched high and low (often extremely low) for nitpicky negatives to publish in big bold headlines. This is something that's going to take years and years to correct (most likely by giving each reporter of negative info like this that just won't come around to sense a big fat PowerMac 9500/180x2 machine or something).

It's amazing what people can pick on... Witness people in comp.sys.amiga.advocacy slamming the Mac because it doesn't have parity memory. As if you want to pay 10% more per SIMM, for no real benefit. Sheesh.

But that's just the way it goes.
