Vince,
<<<Well one thing's for sure, I'm not going to buy the Mac OS, until it reaches System 8. There's no point in buying something for $100 when I can get the same features free. I really don't care if my OS looks pretty, and can render 3D. My system is too slow to run Quicktime 3D right now anyway. All I want right now is a stable system and pre-emptive multitasking.

Hopefully, Copland will give my Mac the performance boost to last me for a few more years. My system doesn't seem slow right now, it's just not blazing fast anymore.>>>

I think MacOS 8 will eventually give people with 7200 systems a nice, highly responsive system. Whether it will end up being worth the wait, we'll just have to see (there may be something else much better out there by then). You should be able to do Quickdraw 3D stuff just fine. Maybe not at high-resolution texture mapping ,but enough to be usable, anyway. The key will be getting real preemptively multitasked, multithreaded, and native finder. This will allow us to do most anything we want to do (download and save files to disk from other software at the same time, etc.).
