Well their stock is stable in the $35-36 range and I heard rumor of $999 iMacs at CompUSA and you can now buy Mac's at Best Buy. From what I hear is fixin to come out in their product lineup things are too bad.

The best thing though is that Jobs has restored people's confidence in Apple. That's a lot and was absolutely crucial for Apple to continue.

The confidence issue is definitely the biggest thing he could have done for Apple. Marketshare is back into double digits because of that and the iMac. It should help prevent further erosion of the current users into the wintel worlld, in preparation for regaining lost ground.

It sounds like you don't like what you've seen about the new products coming out. Personally, the only thing I don't especially like is the lack of SCSI. FireWire drives could certainly be nice, but the only devices I've ever seen with FireWire are video cameras. I guess that would be good for outputting digital productions to tape, but I still have some reservations. I suppose FireWire won't really take off until some major manufacturer steps up and gives machines to put the things on. It would be nice if there were FireWire drives on the market already though. At least the latest crop of Ultra ADA drives are cheap and relatively fast. I'll be getting a Yosemite system this time next year (G4 hopefully), and one of the first things I'm going to put in it is a SCSI card (if for no other reason than to continue using my scanner and MO drive).
