1. We Mean Business

Thanks to exceptional performance, massive storage, and unparalleled
ease of use, Xserve--Apple's rack-optimized 1U server--can outperform
not just its 1U competitors but many 2U systems, as well.

Featuring single or dual 1.33GHz PowerPC G4 processors, 2MB of
dedicated L3 cache per processor, and up to 2GB of 333MHz DDR
memory, the new Xserve delivers phenomenal computational
power--nearly 19 gigaflops per dual processor server.

Xserve also outperforms on the storage front, providing support for
up to 720GB of internal storage--nearly twice the capacity of most
other 1U servers.

http://www.apple.com/xserve/storage.html

Yet while Xserve offers phenomenal processing power, it's also
incredibly easy to manage, providing a set of robust remote
management tools that make it the ideal solution for file and print,
workgroup management, video streaming, database applications,
computational clustering and web and mail serving.

And, here's good news for your bottom line, even with its
unlimited-client license for Mac OS X Server software, Xserve
starts at just $2799.

2. Massive Storage at Just $4 Per Gigabyte

Need even more than 720GB of storage?

How about 2.52 terabytes of storage. That's how much storage
capacity we're providing in our new Xserve RAID. The cutting-edge
3U storage system holds up to fourteen 180GB hot-swap Apple Drive
Modules, with each drive running on its own independent ATA/100
drive channel.

Dual independent RAID controllers, redundant, load-sharing power
and cooling modules, and a dual 2Gb Fibre Channel host interface
deliver high-availability storage with impressive 400MB-per-second
performance.

The perfect solution for creative shops or any organization that
demands high-availability, high-performance storage, Xserve RAID is
both easy to use and--at just over $4 per gigabyte--offers astounding
price performance.

3. Tips for Ten: A Commanding Way to Select

With a window open in icon view, a single click of the mouse lets
you select one item (a folder or document). By holding down the
Shift key, you can select multiple items.

If you're in list or column view, however, holding down the Shift
key has a different effect: selecting every item between your first
and second click. So how can you be more selective about your
selecting?

In "Mac OS X Killer Tips," available from the Apple Store, Scott
Kelby tells you how:

"In List or Column view, to select multiple items that aren't
contiguous, just hold the Command key and click on each item. Click
on any open space in the window or press Escape to deselect all
selected items."

4. iPhoto 2 Tip: Finding the Right Tune

With iPhoto 2, adding a soundtrack to your slideshows is a model of
integrated efficiency.

In fact, even those of you who have thousands of songs or dozens of
playlists in your iTunes 3 music library will find it incredibly
easy to find just the right music to add. Here's how:

1. Select the album or photos you'd like to include in your
slideshow.
2. Click the Slideshow button.
3. Choose iTunes Library or one of your playlists from the pull-down
menu.
4. Select the song.

Want to make sure you've chosen the right tune? Simply click the
Play button next to the song list to preview it.

5. Safari Tip: Enhancing the Bookmarks Menu

Click the Safari Bookmarks icon, and you'll find a treasure trove
of websites already neatly organized in the Collections pane. In the
News folder, for example, you'll find bookmarks for some of the most
respected online news sources. Kids will transport you to Discovery
Kids, PBS Kids, howstuffworks.com, and many other websites your kids
(and you) will enjoy.

So would you like to know an easy way to add the folders you enjoy
the most to the Bookmarks menu? Here's how:

1. Click the Bookmarks icon.
2. Click the icon for Bookmarks Menu.
3. Drag the folder you'd like to appear in the Bookmarks Menu from
the Collections pane to the Bookmark column.

You're done.

6. Software Update Makes It Easy...

To get the latest versions of the software you depend on.

Like Safari. The newest version of the public beta improves
compatibility with popular websites (based on your feedback),
further improves both webpage-loading and Flash content performance,
offers improved stability, and provides access to websites
offering self-signed security certificates.

Also available via Software Update, Mac OS X v10.2.4.delivers
enhanced functionality and improved reliability for a variety of Mac
OS X applications, utilities, services, and technologies. To read
about the enhancements provided by this Update, read the Knowledge
Base article, "About the Mac OS X 10.2.4 Update."

By the way, did you know that you can order a Mac OS X
v10.2.4 Update CD from the Apple Store?

7. Priceless Memories. Heirloom Quality.
----------------------------------------

You've already imported the photos. The new baby. Your mom's 65th.
The raft trip down the Colorado. That winning little league season.

Now it's never been easier--or more affordable--to share those
special moments with friends or family. For a limited time, you can
save 20% on iPhoto book orders of $60 or more. Filled with your
words and images, the beautiful heirloom-quality books make great
gifts and even better keepsakes:

8. Technically Speaking: Where's Help When You Need It?

Closer than you think.

Whether you have questions about using Address Book, iPod, Mac OS X
Mail, iMovie, QuickTime, Safari, AppleScript, iCal, AirPort, iTunes,
or other Apple applications you're using, you'll find answers in
the Help menu.

Go ahead--choose Mac Help from the Help menu and try it out. Mac
Help provides handy answers to hundreds of the most common
questions, including tidbits specific to the Mac you're using. Need
a helping hand? It even provides automated helpers.

What's more, most developers--FileMaker, Bare Bones Software, Palm,
and Microsoft, to name just a few--use Mac Help to offer assistance
with their applications, as well.
