ABOUT CSCAN+

C-SCAN+ is a serial port multiplexer which allows you to connect up to 8 computers to the same serial bus peripherals. This means that all of the computers attached may share drives and printers. This system works with JiffyDOS and our HD Series hard drives.

C-SCAN+ is only recommended for situations where the drives or printers attached are not accessed on a constant basis by the application. Because of the way this system operates  any computer which tries to access the serial bus must wait until the computer currently accessing the bus has finished.

This is most ideal for classroom situations or in business applications where serial bus access is only needed occasionally  but by many computers. ^
